Shanties Seen From the LRT 1 & 2 Walkway

As I walk through the LRT 1 and 2 covered walkway, I always feel astounded at the architecture of the shanties that are right beside the structure. These mini condominiums rise approximately at least between 3-5 stories, each one comparable to a miniscule studio.
Somehow, electricity is funneled into these “buildings” because the sounds of a TV show or loud music can be sporadically heard, while the presence of light bulbs can also be discerned.
And, even with the onslaught of the destructive Typhoon Ondoy, these shanties remain upright, teetering somehow amidst the winds and rains. Remarkable!
