MRT Stopped Due to MERALCO Transformer Problems

On 08 October 2009, I took a MRT from the Cubao - Araneta Center station to the Shaw Blvd. station. However, after about a two hour meeting, I went back to the MRT station only to find out that due to a transformer problem by Meralco, the MRT has been halted.
Thankfully, I have other options like taking the bus, but, the halting of the MRT operations will surely cause havoc unless the electricity is restored.
I personally experienced blackouts in the Quezon City area at around 9am on 08 October 2009, while a colleague said that they had no electricity in Taguig since 12mn. While I was at the Shangri-la Plaza Mall from 1-3pm, there was no electricity, except for a five minute return of the lights.
As I’m writing this, I hear the familiar sounds of the MRT on its tracks.
