When Pickpocketed Consider Searching the Garbage Cans

My friend, Radar11, was barely ten steps away from where she alighted from the Recto jeep when she felt that something was wrong. She swung her backpack to the front and found the zipper open.

A part of her marveled at the swiftness of the pickpocket, and, of course, she was also horrified to find that she has been the victim of a crime.

Radar11 also knew that the pickpocket was only able to steal some bank documents in an envelope.

She was debating whether to call the bank or not when her instincts told her to look into the nearest garbage can.

True enough, the envelope was on top with all pertinent bank documents intact.

I pointed out to her that it was a good thing that the pickpocket didn’t look into the documents, which could have easily told him the current balance of Radar11’s bank account.

Radar11 agreed and said that it was a blessing the pickpocket was a simple person who, upon seeing there was no cash inside the envelope, threw it aside as worthless. He could have forced Radar11 to go into the bank and withdraw the contents of her account.
