Two Car Accident on EDSA Northbound Lane

Going home on a bus on 16 December 2008 at approximately 8.15pm, there was a traffic buildup that I immediately assumed was caused by the holiday season. Instead, when we passed Galleria Mall and crawled to the Bantog ng Bayani sculpture, everyone was aghast to realize that all the EDSA northbound lanes were at a halt.

The cause? I can only surmise that there was a horrific collision that occurred just a few minutes ago, because everyone gaped at the sight of two cars facing each other from opposite ends of the 5-lane width of EDSA. And, to make it worse, both cars were perpendicular to the flow of the traffic, so the momentum of the collision must have caused both cars to spin at least 180 degrees.

Broken glass littered the street, but, I sincerely hope all passengers and drivers suffered only minor injuries.
