Computerized Bus Ticket

To my astonishment, the bus conductor did not give me a combination of tickets that equaled the bus fare, but printed out a small piece of paper that read:

TIN 242-899-615-000
Passenger — Ticket

C10-0170052
Date/Time: 15 Oct 2008 8:44pm
Vehicle: BUS 6510
Line: Navotas-Pacita
From: 30 to 35
Amount Due: 10.00 pesos
2FH2MAii

This “receipt” was printed out from an approximately six-inch contraption with a monitor and buttons that was strapped on the bus conductor’s wrist.

From an accounting point of view, this seems a much better way to monitor earnings, unless the bus driver and/or conductor is wily enough to adjust the computer codes.
