LRT 1 & LRT 2 Now Open Till 11pm

I heard the good news from a friend. She said that the two lines of the Light Rail Transit, namely, LRT 1, from Monumento to Baclaran, and the LRT 2, from Santolan to Recto, will be operating till 11pm instead of closing at 10pm or earlier. I immediately checked out Inquirer to confirm whether it’s true.
Yes, it is indeed true, and the only limitation is that the extended hour only applies on weekdays, and will not be implemented on Saturdays, Sundays and holidays.
The main relief from the news is that I can now go to the Cultural Center of the Philippines (CCP) on weekdays and watch an evening show at 8pm, and, even if it ends at 10 or 10.30pm, there’s a good chance I will make it to the Recto station before 11pm.
I can still remember my frustration when I once dashed up the LRT 1 Vito Cruz station at 9.15pm only to be told that the last train had left. Now, I can be more assured of a train home from Mondays to Fridays if I’m in the Manila area.
This development raises my hopes that the MRT will follow suit. And it’s one step closer to my dream of a 24 hour MRT and LRT.
