GMA on the LRT 1 & LRT 2

Kotex on the LRT 2 On 24 July 2008, I hurried to the LRT 2 Cubao-Araneta Center station so that I could catch the train to go to the CCP in Manila to watch the musical Sandosenang Sapatos (A Dozen Pairs of Shoes).
Since I haven’t ridden the LRT 2 in quite a while, it was with a pang of regret that I noticed that the once silver LRT 2 coaches have now been encased with Kotex (feminine products) ads from the first to the last coach. I consoled myself with the thought that the earnings from the Kotex ads will subsidize the LRT 2 commuters’ fares.
GMA on the LRT 1 From the LRT 2 Recto station, I transferred to the LRT 1, which will bring me to Vito Cruz, the nearest LRT 1 station to the CCP. As I waited for the LRT 1 to arrive at the Doroteo Jose station, I was aghast to note that the picture above of GMA (minus the man) is plastered on the LRT 1 coaches. In fact, almost all the LRT 1 coaches that passed the Doroteo Jose and Vito Cruz (where I alighted) stations from 5-5.30pm had the GMA design.
GMA on the LRT 2 After having watched the play, I rode the LRT 1 again and went through the walkway to get to the Recto station. While waiting for the LRT 2 at the Recto station at 9pm, I was further dismayed to note that the GMA poster is also plastered on the sides of the LRT 2, with added images of her doing charitable and civic work.
It seems the Kotex ads are the exception, with majority of the LRT 1 and 2 trains dedicated to the GMA ads.
